Jean has achieved a number of creative skills over the past 26
years; skills that include Craft and Design and Woodwork.
Achieving a number of recognised certificates from Liverpool
Community College, two of which are City and Guilds.
Liverpool Community College recognised Jean’s skills, encouraged
her to attend a City and Guilds course in Teacher Training at
Mable Fletcher College in the City of Liverpool.
The college then employed Jean as a stand in lecturer for the
Women’s Carpentry class and the Craft and Design class, she was
asked by the college to start new classes within the Community
of Liverpool. Such courses included Machine Knitting, and
Women Embarking on an Architectural course, (Riversdale
College), also a Women’s DIY course.
Jean later went on to learn about ceramic, achieved an NVQ
Level II in Pottery, and an NVQ level II in Sculpture, and an
NVQ level I in Painting and Drawing. These skills go hand in
hand with Ceramic Restoration and has served Jean well in her
work. Recently Jean has completed a China Painting course.
